We went to the movies this past weekend. Juno was showing at the Grandview in the large theater. Unlike many films with similar hype machines this one delivered.
Here is what Juno has going for it:
writing, casting, acting, soundtrack, and art direction.
The characters speak like real people. The pacing is fast and I know I missed some of the dialog due to the overwhelming laughter. The entire theater laughed loud throughout this movie.
There were some surprises.
The cast is filled with "hey it's that guy" actors along with some well known actors playing minor roles.
The music is an important actor in this film. It starts with the opening credits and carries forth to the end.
There are some great visual themes.
Go see it. Buy the sound track. Buy the DVD.
It will be worth revisiting these characters again.
